Everything you need to know about our trips, pricing, and policies for a worry-free day at sea. We've answered the most common questions here so you can feel confident and ready to cast off.
Trip Details & What to Bring
What’s included on my charter?
We provide a cooler with ice, bottled water, and plenty of room for your personal snacks & drinks. On fishing trips, all gear (rods, reels, and bait) are included for the trip. For day trips, we have high-quality snorkel gear and reef-safe sunscreen available.
What should I bring?
Pack a towel, sunglasses, sun shirts, sunscreen and a hat. If you'd like specific drinks or snacks, you're welcome to bring them along, but please, no glass bottles! We have space in our coolers. Don't forget your camera to get some cool fishin' shots!
Where do we leave from?
STJ - We typically depart from the DPNR dock in Cruz Bay (across from Morgan's Mango). Once your booking is confirmed, we'll send a clear pin drop for the exact meeting point to make it as easy as possible for you to find us.
STT - we can pick you up in Red Hook or Sapphire Marina. Please make a note at the time of booking if pickup on STT is preferred. You will be responsible for STT marina's charge (est - $50.00) for pickup & dropoff at the marina.
How long are the trips?
We offer half-day (4 hours), 3/4 day (6 hours), and full-day (8 hours) options. We can customize the timing based on what you want to see and do during your adventure.
What about cruise ship schedules?
We work with cruise visitors often. We can coordinate our start times to match your docking schedule so you have plenty of time for your charter and a stress-free return to your ship.
Can kids come on the boat?
Absolutely! Our boat is safe and comfortable for all ages. We ensure plenty of great memories for the little ones. Kids of all ages count as a guest member and if you have your own PFD for you infant or child, please feel free to bring it along.
Company and trip waiver?
Yes - All guests are required to sign a trip waiver prior to departing your pickup location. You captain will have each guest 18 or older sign and all guests under 18 need to have a parent or guardian sign for them.
Can we fish or do a day trip to the BVI?
All fishing, snorkeling and island cruise charters are run within the USVI waters. Stay'n Salty Charters does not offer trips to the BVI or PR. Please refer to our Island Networking page for recommended companies that do.
Pricing, Deposits & Payments
We believe in clear, upfront pricing so you can focus on the fishing. Here is how we handle payments, fuel and deposits.
How does pricing work for different trips?
Our rates are based on the type and length of the charter. Deep sea fishing trips have a set base rate for up to 6 passengers, while day trips and sunset cruises are priced accordingly for up to 12 passengers.
Is fuel included in the price?
All Fishing Trips - Fuel is included within the total price at booking.
Combo Fishing & Snorkeling - Fuel is included within the total price at booking.
Full day Snorkeling / Island Cruze / Sunset - Fuel is not included in the booking price giving you the freedom to go explore. At the end of your day, fuel usage will be calculated and the cost will be added to the balance due.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, a deposit is required at the time of booking through FareHarbor to secure your date. This deposit is fully refundable if you cancel within our policy window or if we have to cancel due to weather.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, cash, Venmo, Zelle, & PayPal. Final payment is due at the end of your trip. Don't forget that a standard gratuity for the mate (15-20%) is greatly appreciated!
